Give us this day our daily bird

Give us this day our daily bird is a new series we are introducing as part of John d Green’s Birds of Britain exhibition.

Many of the ladies that John d Green photographed are very well-known – like Pattie Boyd here. Others, less so. To my mind, they all have equal billing, as they were all willing subjects in a very special project that happened fifty years ago. Some of the ladies have, sadly, passed away, but many are still with us. Each has a story.

Over the course of the exhibition, I will be sharing with you what I know about each of these fabulous subjects and their sessions with John d Green. Each day I will be focusing on a different lady from John d Green’s Birds of Britain archive. I am going to try and do it each day. If I slip up and miss a day or two here and there, please forgive me.

The series is underway – posts appear below each day at 6pm UK time.
