On 11 April 1994, Oasis released their debut single, Supersonic.

The iconic front cover photograph was taken by acclaimed photographer Michael Spencer Jones.

The photoshoot for Supersonic took place at Monnow Valley Studios in Monmouth, Wales.

Michael Spencer Jones’s sleeve photograph showed the band at work in a cluttered studio with guitars, amps and leads all over the floor. The message is clear to the viewer – Oasis are a hard-working band, dedicated to their craft, and not even a photo-shoot for the sleeve of their first single is going to stop them for too long from creating their own art. The image is a striking one – with lead singer Liam Gallagher, who was only 21 years old at the time, standing tall in the centre of the frame. To achieve the elevation required to capture the scene Michael took the shot from the top of a step-ladder.

Michael is now offering collectors the opportunity to own signed, numbered, limited edition prints of this classic image.
