Graphic novel album commissions

The images above and below show Jamie Byrne’s incredible graphic novel album commissions, in which he takes a favourite LP and represents each of the tracks in graphic novel style.

Once an original is created, Jamie will then make limited editions of ten in a choice of two smaller physical sizes.

If you are looking for something special in a large physical format unique to you, then here’s the good news: Jamie will create a bespoke original commission for you, focusing on your album of choice, made with a 100 x 100 cm/ approx 40 x 40 inch image size (or a smaller size that suits your particular space). Each original commission is signed and numbered 1/1 by Jamie. Original commissions are made as ChromaLuxe prints on high gloss coated aluminium. Original commissions take approximately 8 weeks from placing an order.

You can commission your own favourite LP in graphic novel style, or order an existing limited edition, via the links on this page.

Biography

Jamie Byrne’s passion stems from British subcultures – Mods, Rockers, Teds, Skinheads, Rudeboys, Punks and Casuals.  His artwork is inspired by these youth cultures and the music that accompanies them.

Jamie explains: “Musically I’m drawn to many genres, all of which fuel my artwork. I’m driven by how our small Island stands at the forefront of so many critical moments in popular cultural history.”

For the last 10 years Jamie has been working under the pseudonym Jaymokid, creating his own style of artwork that has evolved over time and into bespoke commission pieces. For several years Jamie was the commissioning artist for Ocean Colour Scene, creating two album covers and all of their tour merchandise in that time. He has also created commissions for Lambretta Clothing and merchandise for Horace Panter of the Specials.

His new body of work which we are launching at the gallery is inspired by graphic novels.
