Keith Haynes had added a new Spines artwork to his growing series, this time featuring the Rolling Stones.

In Spines #3 Stones, Keith recreates the spines of 51 Rolling Stones albums to form this beautiful new limited edition print. The starting point is Keith’s own record collection, which he supplements with missing albums he needs for the piece. These 12 inch sleeves are the research materials. Keith then researches all the historic fonts and uses these to recreate the spines himself to build up the artwork. So this is not a photograph, and neither is it assembled from actual sleeves cut up in some way – it is a completely new artwork designed and created by Keith.

You can see how one looks when framed in the photograph – it’s a beautiful piece. As you move from left to right, from the simple early covers to the more recent, you see how the sleeve artwork changes over the years, and brings in the spine as part of the design. (Check out the eye on Black and Blue). The colours really pop, and a special varnish over the image area heightens the effect.

Keith is releasing Spines #3 Stones as a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered prints, in one size only, with an image area measuring 50x50cm / 20×20 inches (paper size 66x66cm / 26×26 inches).
