1. The recently published Sergeant Pepper screenprint, one of a limited edition of 500 individually numbered pigment ink screenprints of the Sergeant Pepper album cover photograph, each one signed and numbered by Sir Peter Blake.
This beautiful print is the one Peter Blake and Beatles collectors have been waiting for. Released on 1 June 2007, the 40th anniversary of the release of Sergeant Pepper, it is printed with archival pigment inks on 410gsm Somerset Cotton archive paper, with an image size measuring 19 inches square and the paper size 26 inches square. This is a hand printed silkscreen made by Coriander Studios in London, and to make it, 29 individual screens were used, representing 27 colours and 2 spot glazes. Each limited edition print bears the Apple logo hand embossed in the centre of the bottom white margin. Sir Peter Blake's signature and number are in pencil. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, which makes it clear that all component materials were destroyed on completion of the printing process. It is supplied unframed. Sir Peter Blake's screenprints tend to sell through their editions very quickly, and significant price increases are common - for example the silkscreen of Paul Weller's Stanley Road album cover is almost sold out and currently, the last few remaining copies are GBP 6,000+. |
