Man in Black special issue
Christmas is coming!
We have our Xmas trees in the window in London and the mince pies and mulled wine on the go. OK, so we have the trees at least, but we are working on the pies and wine.
What a treat to show Andy Earl's beautiful Johnny Cash photographs in the London space. Andy is a complete charmer, the opening was a total scrum, and great fun for all, apart from one miserable looking geezer who pops up in a few of the party photographs. Not sure who he was! If you get the chance, come and see the exhibition in the flesh before 10 December, and please do check out Andy's very impressive new book of Johnny Cash photographs, which makes an ideal Christmas present. Other stocking fillers include Lawrence Watson's new retrospective book, The World is Yours.
As ever we have some new material to show you - please read on for more details - and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions at all.
All the best

It's time for our November newsletter.
All our news items this month are themed around the subject of records sleeves, as we launch our new exhibition, The Temple of Wax, on Friday 19 November, at 11.00am. This exhibition is a celebration of classic album cover artwork through the decades, and visitors to the gallery (real and virtual) will be able to see some cracking photographs, prints and, a first for us, a painting. A painting ? Yes. It's true, as we are introducing our clients to artist Pete McKee. Pete's paintings celebrate youth culture and we feature three of his artworks in our Temple of Wax exhibition.
Bruce Springsteen's deluxe Darkness on the Edge of Town / The Promise set comes out next week, and so what better time to be able to offer our clients the chance to own one of Frank Stefanko's limited edition Darkness on the Edge of Town album cover photographs. This classic cover image features in our new exhibition and is being released on to the collectors market for the first time, in tandem with the release of limited editions of Frank's cover photograph from The River. Eric Meola's photographs from the Darkness period are appearing on the front cover of The Promise LP, and on a new vinyl single in the US. Rattlesnake Speedway, Eric's most popular piece from the 1977/78 sessions with Bruce, is now sold out in two of its three sizes, and we expect Frank Stefanko's newly released Darkness and River album cover images to be just as sought after.
Also related to the album sleeve theme, visitors to the gallery will be able to see three beautiful box set collections featuring The Beatles, John Lennon and Bob Dylan by Box of Vision. BoV is a passionate US company that has produced storage solutions with a difference for your CD collections. The Dylan box is a superb piece of work and we are delighted to be the first retailer in the world to have this available to view.
A final farewell, then, as we say goodbye to Gered Mankowitz' amazing Jimi Hendrix exhibition, which ends 5.00pm tomorrow, Saturday 13 November 2010. If you're in London today or tomorrow, come and see Jimi and say hello, and then goodbye.
To all those who enquired about Jim Marshall's signed photographs as a result of last month's newsletter, we will have full news on availability very soon. Like all good things worth waiting for, there has been a slight delay, but rest assured we'll be in touch.
I'll leave you to scroll down for more detail on the individual news items.
