The photograph was taken by British photographer Michael Putland in the seventies. One of Michael Putland's great skills is his ability to create very intimate portraits of performers who would be completely inaccessible to you or I. He offers a window into their world, and this close up of Michael Jackson captures him in a way that many want to remember him.

Michael Putland makes all his archival silver gelatin photographs by hand in the darkroom from the original negatives, and they are available in a range of sizes.
