By complete coincidence, as I type this, on 5 June 2014, we are exactly 50 years to the day back in 1964 that David Bowie released Liza Jane/Louie Louie Go Home on the Vocalion label.

This montage of three previously unpublished solo portraits of Davie Jones (as he was then, with The King Bees) features in our June exhibition of photographs by David Wedgbury and is now available to purchase as a limited edition.

The clothing is exquisite: check out the tab collar and cravat, coupled with the groovy waistcoat and bouffant ‘do. And those boots!

The montage shows three images of our then 17 year old hero ( yes, seventeen) and measures 80cm x 140cm in its large variant.
