Bruce Springsteen: Darkness and River covers now available
Important news for collectors of Bruce Springsteen album cover photographs
Regular visitors to the gallery will remember that when we hosted Frank Stefanko's first UK exhibition back in 2007, limited editions of the actual cover photographs from Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River were not available. Well, we are delighted to be able to announce that they are now. In conjunction with the November 2010 release of the remastered Darkness on the Edge of Town, Frank is now able to offer collectors the chance to acquire these classic pieces in a range of size options.
The River
Nice and easy, as there is just one choice - the exact crop as it appears on the cover. You can see the prices (stated net of VAT) and size specifications here
Darkness on the Edge of Town
There is a choice of both front and back cover images, either as the exact square crop as it appeared on the original album sleeve (shown below) or as the full frame uncropped versions that appear on the cover of the new Darkness / The Promise CD / DVD box set (shown above). We love them both, but the square cropped album cover variant is just nudging it for us. You can access the range of size options and prices for the square cropped variant here, and for the full frame version here. Just click on the individual images, and the list of sizes and prices (stated net of VAT) pops up like this.
Choices, choices... here's our considered view
If you are going to team up The River with a Darkness piece, then our advice is to go square with your Darkness option. If you do that, you can hang Darkness and The River side by side and they can be made the same size. If you triple up, with a River and both Darkness front and back, we recommend hanging them on your walls with The River in the middle and Darkness front and back bookending The River. It has a nice balance to it - check out the mock up below and imagine that on your wall. If you are sticking to Darkness, and are considering a pair, then you have a choice to make between the square or uncropped versions. Tough call. Both work, but on balance we prefer the square. It’s your choice though!
Ask about discounts if you are looking to purchase more than one of these album cover pieces. We are offering a good deal for purchasers of two or more pieces - so if you fancy a Darkness and River matched pair, a Darkness front and back, or the triple combo shown below, get in touch and let us work out a special price for you.
