Art Kane : Visionary Portraits 1958-68 Ends 19 April 2008

Pete Townshend launches into a windmill in Art Kane's NYC studio in 1968, and there's a riot going on. A riot of colour in our Winter exhibition.

Art Kane’s music portraits from the late sixties explode in your face with eye popping colour. Just the tonic when it’s cold outside. We’ve been working closely with Art Kane’s son Jonathan and are putting on something extra special to kick off 2008. Alongside unseen photographs of The Who, Dylan and more, the exhibition also features Art Kane’s photographs of The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Cream, Zappa, Country Joe and others in sizes up to 6 ft high. Kane is the photographers’ photographer, universally respected and a true legend behind the lens. It is a complete honour to show his work at the gallery.
