A special copy of Exile by Dominique Tarle
A very special copy, previously owned by one of the inhabitants of Villa Nellcote in 1971
This is a copy of the phenomenally rare Exile book, by Dominique Tarle, published by Genesis Publications. This sold out very quickly on original publication, and copies appear from time to time on the secondary market. This specific volume has a very interesting provenance - it used to be the personal copy of Jake Weber, now a well known actor. Back in 1971 his dad Tommy was The Stones' 'substance' procurer, for want of a better expression. Young Jake spent time at Villa Nellcote while the Stones were recording Exile. You can see him in many of Dominique Tarle's photographs: here's a nice one of Mick with guitars where Jake is stage left.
This volume comes with a photograph of Jake dedicated to its previous owner, and a letter from the previous owner confirming that he acquired it directly from Jake Weber.
Volumes of Exile are rare enough anyway, but ones with a provenance are something extra. Get in touch if you are interested and we'll give you price info. A really interesting piece.
