At Snap Galleries we specialize in rare, iconic rock 'n' roll photographs - produced in small limited editions by the master photographers of the genre - from the fifties to the present day. We are a commercial retail gallery, and everything you see is for sale. Our customers are a global group of discerning collectors, art lovers and music aficionados who are looking for something special to hang in their homes and offices, and we ship regularly to clients in the UK, US, Europe, Australia and the Far East.
While it is true to say that our deep specialism lies in the music photographs of the sixties and seventies, (our most popular subjects come from those two decades: Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix) we cover the complete history of rock music photography starting with Elvis and running all the way through to the present day.
Collecting great photographs is a lot of fun, but there is a lot of material out there to sift through. Our mission is simple: to bring you the very best rock 'n' roll photography available anywhere on the planet, often exclusively and often for the first time. To bring you the best, we have to ignore the rest, and as a result we don't work with every single photographer out there who ever took a rock 'n' roll picture - just the ones who made those magical photographs that grab you by the guts and connect with you on some emotional level. Our goal is to hook you up with a special piece that you can hang on your walls and enjoy every single day - whether its an instantly recognisable classic, or an obscure treasure that you always wanted but never knew you could get.
In April 2010 we relocated to beautiful premises over three floors in the heart of Piccadilly in central London , moving from our previous base just outside Birmingham. We hold a series of exhibitions throughout the year at the gallery. You can read about current and all previous shows in the 'Exhibitions' section of the website. Photographs continue to be available after an exhibition has ended - although the best prices are invariably obtained if you buy during an exhibition.
Coinciding with our move to London, in April 2010 we launched a very exciting new product range of miniaturised 3D artworks called Tablet Editions.
Because our customers are spread around the globe, we realise that a visit to the gallery, is not always possible and so the website has been designed with this in mind - to give you all the information you might need about these great photographs and the men and women who made them, enable you to make a choice about whether you want to own a piece, and if so allow you to place an order quickly and easily online.
We also sell rock 'n' roll photography books, and are official distributors of the luxury limited edition rock 'n' roll volumes from Genesis Publications. We deal in and provide an aftermarket for long sold out volumes by Genesis and other publishers.
